I've decided to retire from xanga. Good run, but going to start school soon, so this will be my last entry...No fret though - everything is on Facebook. So if you don't have an account yet, sign up! It's free, it's easy and it's a great way to keep in touch. Hope all is well with everyone. Carpe diem and God bless!

New Hobby

There is something about baking that is so fascinating and fun for me. Maybe it's because I have so much time on my hands, maybe it's the whole idea of exploring and see if I can accomplish something new. Or maybe it's because I just like the smell of sweet things in the house (ie award-winning soft chocolate chip cookies) . Either way, I love my "Izzie" moments. I just tried making chocolate souffles tonight, and I must say, not bad for my first time. And now that I know we have a blow torch, my next goal is creme brulees. Although not one of my favorite desserts, I know my housies and MK would love trying....Exploring new hobbies is exciting. Next hobby: tennis!

Hot tub - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"A hot tub is a large manufactured tub or small pool full of heated water and used for soaking, relaxation, massage, or hydrotherapy. In most cases, they have jets for massage purposes. Hot tubs are usually located outdoors, and are often sheltered for protection from the elements, as well as for privacy."

Hot tubbing - a hobby of mine ever since post college. Trying to go more frequently these days as my muscles have been sore due to my attempts in trying all different sports/work outs. Downfalls: Rivermark doesn't have a hot tub and no key access to nearby apt. complexes. I could hop the fence, but that would just be bad. Can you imagine me trespassing, climbing over the fence, just to sit in a hot tub? I should really start making friends at nearby apts. because for now, been driving a ways to go hot tubbing...Oh well, all worth it!

My favorite: Lake Tahoe's Timberlodge

I don't know if it's because of the NBA playoffs (Go Warriors!), or whether it's because we lost in our championship game by 1 point within the last 30 seconds, or just the basketball fever. But I'm thinking of basketball pretty much throughout the entire day. I find myself shooting plain air and reminiscing organized high school bball. I even DREAMT about playing in a game last night! Crazy. I feel like getting an outdoor ball and new indoor shoes. My Lebrons are losing friction...My brother Mike wants to shoot around weekly, play on Sundays, and get in shape for GrX's fall season. So, I'm definitely looking forward to playing some more bball. Anyone want to shoot around sometime?

It's May already...Seriously, 2007 is flying by too quickly. I can remember January like yesterday - stressful with interviews, minor anxiety attacks, doubt, and fear. After a sign of relief from UOP, the next 3 months were complete fun, filled with many blessings. Within these next 4 months, there is still more to look forward to - birthdays, LA/OC roadtrip, showers, graduations, Hawaii, Las Vegas, San Diego, weddings, and possible Rio de Janeiro? But come August, the reality of PT school will hit...

Day by day, the thought of REAL studying and literally being with 35 other students 24/7, is hitting me. There are moments of excitement: anticipating to learn about the fascinating human body, getting to know new people to hopefully become like family and just the concept of grad school alone. New doors, new opportunities. But then there are moments of uncertainty: fear of the workload, nervousness of grad school, insecurities and loneliness.

There will be a lot of changes. Hands down, my environment and lifestyle will be completely different. From living in a house with 7 awesome and loving housies, to just myself and possibly a roommate. I'm going to miss the presence of TL and EL who can easily melt my heart with just one smile or one "Auntie Emi, can I hang out with you?"; the cooking nights where we eat and rate each other, the running and sliding on the hardwood floors, lounging in the loft, vegging with friends and family. Shoot, I'll probably even miss the boys' loud crying episodes!  I'm also going to truly miss the precious girlfriend times - talking, laughing till we can't breathe, eating, watching movies, hot tubbing, sleep overs, shopping, coffee/boba, pool competitions, baking, playing ball, working out, Santana Row, etc. The list is endless and the sisterhoods are priceless. I can always count on them to have good fun times, even if we don't do anything in particular. One thing I know for sure is that laughter is the best medicine. And what a blessing it's been to live here in the bay area for the past 1.5 years. Realizing that these next 4 months will fly by quickly, I can only continue to cherish these moments here & now...
